Story Time Adventures set for Thursday

Story Time Adventures will be Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Macy’s Court at Valley Mall.

Those ages 2 to 8 can participate in interactive stories, songs and crafts while learning about chickens. The event is presented by the Washington County Farm Bureau.

Municipal Band to perform 

The Hagerstown Municipal Band will perform Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the band shell in City Park. The concert is free and open to the public.

Gospel in the Park

A gospel music concert will be Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m. at City Park. The group Forgiven is scheduled to perform in the band shell for the Gospel in the Park concert.

Sportsman and Cash Bash 

Williamsport Fire and EMS will hold its Sportsman and Cash Bash on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Springfield Farm.

The gates open at 2 p.m. and a buffet will be available from 5 to 7 p.m.

There will be $25,000 in prizes. The final prize will be a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV 4-by-4.

Swim event planned

The board of directors of PRAY, or Providing Relief for Autistic Youth, invites the community to a free swim Sunday, Aug. 18, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park, 16519 Lappans Road in Williamsport. 

Reservations only. The event is free for the first 15 families that send an email for an event coupon. Send emails to with your family’s name, phone number and number of people attending.
Selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the park’s swimming capacity, PRAY has to limit the requests to 15 families. 

The swim will be during general public swim time. The park is not reserved by PRAY.
