In support of Navy recruiting, the band tours the U.S. each year and has performed alongside a host of country artists, including Brooks and Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Alison Krauss, Boots Randolph and the Statler Brothers.

Co-sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the concert is free and open to the public.

TOPS 0462

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0462 in Smithsburg had another good week, with all members weighing in with a loss.

For the second week in a row, the club recorded a no-gain week.

John was the thinner winner with a 1.75-pound loss.

Ola led the program on fad diets and how they don’t work.

John read from “TOPS Real People, Real Weight Loss,” a handbook guide on how to calculate the number of calories a person should eat to lose weight.

The weight-loss support group meets Thursdays at Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 N. Main St. in Smithsburg.

Weigh-in starts at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting is at 6 p.m.

This week’s meeting will be at Smithsburg Veterans Park at 6 p.m.
