Steak feed

Clear Spring American Legion will hold a steak feed Friday at 6 p.m. at the picnic grounds. 

Tickets cost $16 and are available in advance at the Legion bar. There will be a limited number of tickets sold. 

Proceeds will be used to benefit veterans and youth programs.

School picnic

Blair’s Valley First Church of God will hold its annual Sunday school picnic Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The picnic will be held at Clopper’s Grove on Blair’s Valley Road. 

There will be special music by Ashes 2 Ashes, beginning at 11:30 a.m. 

There also will be hand-dipped ice cream from the Clear Spring Creamery, hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, and drinks. A donation will be accepted for the food.

There will be an inflatable bounce and face painting for children. 

There also will be a novelty stand and flea market items for sale. 

The community is invited.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Yard sale planned

Wilson Ruritan Club will hold an arts and crafts and yard sale Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Spaces for vendors to rent are still available. To rent a space, call Mark Whitaker at 301-582-2342.

Peach festival

A peach festival will be held at St. Paul’s Reformed and Lutheran Churches Saturday, Aug. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. 

The church is on U.S. 40, three miles east of Clear Spring. 

The menu includes peach pies, sliced peaches, country ham sandwiches, steamers, hot dogs, hand-dipped ice cream, ham and bean soup, vegetable soup, chicken corn soup, drinks (including peach tea) and a baked goods table. 

There will an inflatable bounce for children. 

Proceeds will benefit vacation Bible school. 

The event will be held rain or shine.
