Thurmont Thespians to hold open auditions for 'Musical Comedy Murders of 1940'

THURMONT, Md. -- —  The Thurmont Thespians will hold open auditions for their fall production of “Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” a mystery-spoof by John Bishop, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, and Monday, Aug. 19, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 15 N. Church St., in Thurmont.

The cast needs five women and five men of various ages to fill the roles. Auditions will involve reading from the script. Advance copies can be obtained by contacting director Mike Brown at 443-841-9064 or mbrown1808@yahoo.com. 

Despite the title, “Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” is not a musical and there are no real singing roles in it. The show is suitable for all ages.   

Production dates for “Musical  Comedy Murders of 1940” are for the first two weekends in November — Friday, Nov. 1, to Sunday, Nov. 3; and Friday, Nov. 8, to Sunday, Nov. 10. Performances are at the American Legion Auditorium Stage on 8 Park Lane in Thurmont.
