Dems unveil website

The Washington County Democratic Party has a new website.

Elizabeth Paul, chairwoman of the Washington County Democratic Central Committee, said the website was unveiled in July.

“The new website looks more professional and has more information,” she said.

Users can donate money, find out more about upcoming events and buy tickets for events on the website at www.washingtoncountymddems.org.

It also has a list of elected officials who represent Washington County.

Pesticide work group

The Maryland Pesticide Reporting and Information Work Group will meet Aug. 12 in Annapolis.

The group, which consists of elected lawmakers and representatives of various interest groups, was created as a result of legislation that was approved during the 2013 session of the Maryland General Assembly.

It is tasked with trying to find out if there are any gaps in data about pesticide use in the state and deciding whether there is a need to create a reporting program for pesticide users, including farmers.

Veterans group endorses Brown

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, a Democratic candidate for Maryland governor in 2014, was endorsed last week by VoteVets.org PAC, a veterans political action committee.

According to the Brown campaign, the group has 360,000 supporters.

Brown, who is a veteran, served in Iraq on a 10-month tour of duty that began in September 2004.
