Man flown to shock trauma center after sustaining a head injury

BOONSBORO, Md. — A man was flown to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Sunday evening after he was struck in the head by a piece of construction equipment in the 400 block of Potomac Street, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.

The man was working in a yard when he was struck by a bucket from a piece of equipment like a backhoe, according to the supervisor and a spokesman for Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue Services Inc.

The spokesman for the ambulance company said he did not know how seriously the man was hurt.

The accident was reported at 6:05 p.m.
