Smithsburg Lions Club Scholarship goes to Huntzberry of Smithsburg High

Smithsburg Lions Club President Frank Schaller presented the Smithsburg Lions Club Scholarship to Kyle William Huntzberry  on May 22 at the Mountain Gate Restaurant in Waynesboro, Pa.

Kyle recently graduated from Smithsburg High School, where he was on the distinguished honor roll in ninth and 10 grades, received the faculty distinguished honor award in 11th grade and was named to the STARS program in ninth and 12th grades. 

Kyle has been involved with the following organizations: 

Student Government Association in grades nine to 12, and was president in 12th grade; Future Business Leaders of America; National Business Honors Society; National Honors Society; varsity golf, varsity golf captain in grades 10 and 12; varsity tennis, Unified Bocce Ball; Unified Bocce captain in grade 12; freshman basketball; and jayvee basketball. 

He is a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ in Cave-town, the church youth group, is an acolyte and a member of Young Life.

Kyle has been named an Outstanding Good Citizen by the Ladies of the Elks. 

He works at Huntzberry Brothers Inc. during the summer months. 

He plans to attend Franklin and Marshall College, pursuing a career in the law or investment field.

Kyle is the son of Brad and Pam Huntzberry.  

Lions Club member Charles Fishack is his great-grandfather.

The Smithsburg Lions Club serves Smithsburg and the surrounding communities.
