Hagerstown Police respond to incidents

The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents:

Monday

 At 2:34 p.m., a personal injury accident occurred at Frederick Street and Kenly Avenue.

 At 2:44 p.m., a suspicious person was reported in the first block of West Franklin Street.

 At 2:46 p.m., a disorderly conduct/disturbance incident was reported in the 700 block of Lanvale Street.

 At 3 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported at Oak Hill Avenue and Country Club Road.

 At 3:07 p.m., an assault was reported in the 100 block of South Potomac Street.

 At 3:28 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the first block of Charles Street.

 At 3:34 p.m., a parking complaint was reported in the 100 block of West Howard Street.

 At 3:50 p.m., a burglary was reported in the first block of Charles Street.

 At 4:33 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 1400 block of Kensington Drive.

 At 4:49 p.m., a theft was reported in the 700 block of Potomac Avenue.

 At 5:15 p.m., harassment was reported in the 700 block of Frederick Street.

 At 6:29 p.m., an assault in progress was reported in the 400 block of Summit Avenue.

 At 9:16 p.m., an assault was reported on Charles Street.

 At 9:48 p.m., a property damage accident occurred in the 900 block of Potomac Avenue.

Tuesday

 At 12:25 a.m., a theft was reported in the 700 block of West Franklin Street.

 At 6:45 a.m., a burglary in progress was reported in the 500 block of Salem Avenue.

 At 11 a.m., a burglary was reported in the 100 block of Doub Way.


Interstate 81 northbound closed following crash

MARLOWE, W.Va. — Northbound Interstate 81 lanes were closed following a vehicle crash late Wednesday afternoon near the northern end of Berkeley County, according to a county 911 spokeswoman.

The lanes were closed after the accident, which was reported at 4:39 p.m. The closure caused traffic congestion on the interstate and nearby U.S. 11, the spokeswoman said.

Authorities were told that two vehicles were involved in the crash.

There were injuries, but no details were available, the spokeswoman said.


Two teens, man face prostitution charges

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Two 17-year-old girls have been charged with prostitution after they allegedly entered into a sex-for-money agreement with a Mercersburg man, Pennsylvania State Police said Wednesday.

The alleged incidents occurred on July 15 at 10 p.m. and July 10 at 10 p.m., both in the 9000 block of Buchanan Trail West in Montgomery Township, state police said.

Carl Anthony Martin, 25, has been charged with two counts of prostitution, two charges of corruption of minors, and other offenses, state police said.

The girls have each been charged with prostitution and other offenses, state police said.
