A Hagerstown man was one of two people charged with drug possession during a traffic stop Monday in Frederick, Md., the Frederick Police Department said.

Shihee Harold Bowie, 20, of Deer Valley Drive in Frederick also was charged in connection with the incident with possession of marijuana, the release said.

Police said the incident happened at about 8:20 p.m. Monday, when officers stopped a vehicle for speeding in the area of Old National Pike and Quinn Orchard Road.

Bowie was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

A K-9 unit was called, and the dog alerted for the suspected presence of drugs in the vehicle, officers said. Police allege they found several bags of marijuana.

Bowie was issued a criminal citation for possession of marijuana and released, the release said.

Ambush was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing, police said.
