Hagerstown, Frederick men charged with drug possession after traffic stop

FREDERICK, Md. — A Hagerstown man was one of two people who were charged with drug possession during a traffic stop Monday in Frederick, the Frederick Police Department said.

John Michael Ambush Jr., 20, of 340 S. Locust St. in Hagerstown, was charged with one count of each of possession of marijuana, possession of oxycodone and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to a police department news release.

Shihee Harold Bowie, 20, of 202 Deer Valley Drive in Frederick, also was charged in connection with the incident with possession of marijuana.

Police said the incident happened at about 8:20 p.m. Monday, when officers stopped a vehicle for speeding in the area of Old National Pike and Quinn Orchard Road.

Bowie was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

Officers said a K-9 unit was called, and the dog gave a positive sniff for drugs in the vehicle. Police allege they found several bags of marijuana.

Bowie was issued a criminal citation for possession of marijuana and released, according to release.

Police said Ambush was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing.
