James Edward Routzahn, 72, of Hagerstown, Md., recently a resident of Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 7, 1941, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late Page Edward and Minnie Elizabeth (Flook) Routzahn.

James attended Middletown (Md.) High School.

He worked as a drywall contractor and also enjoyed farming.

He was a member of Antrim Faith Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Pa., and most recently attended Victory Baptist Church in Boonsboro.

James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith A. (Moser) Routzahn; one daughter, Sherry Carson and husband, Gary, of Greencastle, Pa.; one son, Timothy Wayne Routzahn and wife, Connie, of Smithsburg, Md.; three brothers, Harold Routzahn and wife, Dottie, of Fairplay, Md., Roy Routzahn and Mary Beth of Clear Spring, Md., and Wayne Routzahn and wife, Cindy, of Woodsboro, Md.; and two grandsons, Tucker and Kegan Routzahn.

A funeral ceremony will be Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 8014 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Md. The Rev. Edward J. Wade will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Salem United Methodist Cemetery, Wolfsville, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 26, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro; and Saturday one half-hour before the service at the church.
