Jay Allan Cline Sr. 62, of Sharpsburg died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at his home.

Jay was born July 23, 1951, in Hagerstown, the son of Virginia Lee Boncord Cline Gay, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and the late Ervin Thomas Cline.

Jay retired from the U.S. Air Force at Andrews AFB as a senior master sergeant in 2001. After his retirement, he joined his son, Carl, at C&C Framing Construction Co. Inc.

He was of Protestant faith.

Jay served with the 167th TAG Air National Guard, Martinsburg, until his retirement and was a member of Clopper-Michael Post 10 SAL Boonsboro.

Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Carl Cline and his wife, Stacey, and their children, Carley and Cameron, Sharpsburg; daughter-in-law, Ave Cline, and her children, Jay III and Troy, Boonsboro. He was preceded in death by his son, Jay Allan “Jaybird” Cline Jr., on Aug. 27, 2000. He is also survived by daughters, Melissa Cline, and her children, Michael and Jared, Sharpsburg, and Marie Cline, Frederick; sister, Bernice Cline Johnson and her husband, Ulis, Shepherdstown; brother, Bruce E. Cline, Shepherdstown.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., Wednesday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open Wednesday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, with the Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middletown. Military honors will be afforded by the AMVETS Post 10 and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, Md.
