Two charged with DUI during checkpoint
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. —The Martinsburg City Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of North Queen Street, according to a news release.
Officers talked to 430 motorists and stopped 50 vehicles for various traffic violations, the news release said.
Police tested seven drivers and charged two people with driving under the influence. Those two people were John T. Singer, 64, of 133 Big Park Road, Hedgesville, W.Va., and Jeffrey D. Wentzell Jr., 23, of 62 Wren St., Martinsburg, the news release stated.
Also facing charges are:
 Marvin T. White, 53, of 105 Jewels Court, Martinsburg, for allegedly driving on a license revoked for DUI.
 Krista R. Bartlow, 28, of Kearneysville, W.Va., for allegedly driving on a license revoked for DUI.
 Guyowen B. Hall Jr., 51, of 2568 Providence Church Road, Hedgesville, for allegedly driving on a license revoked for DUI.
 Brandon M. Ashenfelter, 20, of 93 Radiant Drive, Martinsburg, for allegedly having an open container in his vehicle.
 Joyce Campbell, 43, of 105 Quart Road, Martinsburg, for driving on a suspended license.

Person struck in St. Thomas Township
ST. THOMAS, Pa. — A person was flown to a hospital Saturday night after a pedestrian accident in St. Thomas Township, a Franklin County 911 dispatcher said.
The accident at 4490 Racetrack Road was reported at 8:21 p.m. Saturday, according to an email from Franklin County Emergency Services.
No further information was available.

Vehicle hits utility pole; person taken to hospital
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. —A person was taken to a hospital Sunday morning after a vehicle struck a utility pole, knocking down wires in the 1600 block of West King Street, according to Berkeley County Emergency Services.
The accident was reported at 6:17 a.m. Sunday, a 911 supervisor said.
No further information was available.
