Vedah Louise Beaver, 78, of Hagerstown, Md., went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2013, surrounded by her family.

She was born Sept. 12, 1934, at home on High Street in Hagerstown, to the late Thomas D. Forney and Lillian Sophia Forney during the Depression.

Vedah, being the baby of the family, was the love and delight of her parents and siblings, Gwen Knell Forney and John Thomas Forney.

Vedah attended First Baptist Church in Hagerstown as a small child. It was at the age of 9 that Vedah realized that she was a sinner and needed to be saved from her sins. She placed her faith in Jesus Christ and repented from her sins. Vedah now began a brand-new life in Jesus Christ and was baptized as a believer. The Lord blessed Vedah with special talents in the area of art for His glory. She loved to paint, design and draw.

Vedah graduated from North Hagerstown High School and went to work as a single young lady at Murreys Toy Store designing toys.

Happily, on June 22, 1962, Vedah married Jim Mitchell Beaver, also of Hagerstown.

Vedah went to work at this time with Dr. Bloom, a dentist. It was there that she designed dentures.

God blessed Vedah and Jim with a son named James M. Beaver after his father. In 1968, the Lord again blessed them with a little girl named Deborah Dawn.

Vedah was a stay-at-home mother until her daughter went to college. Vedah at this time went to work as an art teacher at Broadfording Christian Academy to put her daughter through Bible College.

Vedah was totally devoted to her Lord, family and church that she loved.

Her husband devoted his care to her during each and every illness in his home.

We will miss Vedah, but we know someday we will meet again in heaven.

Vedah did not fear death because she trusted in the Lord Jesus so many years ago and she knew Him to be faithful.

Services will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 22, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 15 High St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.douglasfiery.com.
