A 19-year-old man who fell down a farm silo Tuesday off Lehmans Mill Road north of Hagerstown remained in serious condition Thursday at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Andrew Horst plunged down the silo at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, and was trapped for about three hours until rescue workers placed him in a basket and hoisted him through an opening at the top of the structure.

Horst was flown from the scene to the shock trauma center, where he has been listed in serious condition since Tuesday, hospital officials said.
