Police looking for next of kin

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Martinsburg police have been working to notify the next of kin of a man who was found dead this week in a vehicle parked near the West King Street Sheetz store in Martinsburg.

No evidence of foul play was found, Martinsburg Police Lt. Justin Darby said.

Officers responded at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. They found the man, who lived in the area, unresponsive in a vehicle, which was parked in a lot that serves the University of Charleston-Martinsburg offices and is next to the Sheetz, according to police.

 
Man accused of selling drugs to confidential informant

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Police seized several firearms, a large amount of cash, marijuana and scales from a man’s residence after orchestrating a drug deal with a confidential informant this week, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court documents.

Dale Allen Gladden of 284 Valentine Drive, Martinsburg, was arraigned Thursday by Magistrate JoAnn Overington on single felony counts of delivery of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, the court documents said.

Gladden is accused of selling a pound of marijuana to an informant for $2,450 on Tuesday, the documents said.
