WILLIAMSPORT — The Brunswick Orioles were leading the Hagerstown Braves 5-0 after 5 1/2 innings during the second game of their Blue Ridge Adult League best-of-3 semifinal series on Wednesday night when play was suspended because of darkness.

The final 1 1/2 innings will be completed Thursday at Williamsport High School at 6:15 p.m.

Brunswick leads the series 1-0. If Brunswick holds onto its lead and gets a victory in the second game, then it will win the series.

If Hagerstown puts together a big comeback and wins the second game, then a deciding third game will be played on Friday night at Brunswick at 6:30.

The second game started 38 minutes late on Wednesday night because of traffic issues due to an accident.

Brunswick scored its first run in the top of the second inning. Josh Vitek led off with a double to left and Joey Zuniga walked. Kyle Crist reached on a sacrifice bunt as there was an error and everybody was safe. Vitek scored on a groundout to third by Wayne Toms.

Brunswick scored two more runs in the top of the fifth to extend its lead to 3-0. With two outs, Vincent Smarrelli reached on a throwing error. Jake Ringold then reached on an infield single, and a throwing error on the play allowed Smarrelli to come home as Ringold went to second. After Vitek was intentionally walked, Zuniga singled to left to score Ringold.

The Orioles added two more runs in the top of the sixth to increase their lead to 5-0. Crist singled to right and Toms walked to start the rally. Crist advanced to third when Joey Johnson flied out to right. Crist came home and Toms moved to second when Mike Minch grounded out to the shortstop. Toms then scored on a single to left by Bryan Nolan.
