Summer reading list

Are you looking for a summer activity for you and your elementary-aged children?  Go to the suggested reading list from the Hancock Elementary School on the web at

The list is organized by age group and category, and each title has a short description of the content.

There is sure to be something that will interest your child, and reading together is a great way to make those important connections.

When you read, ask your child to repeat the story to you in their own words. Let them read words they understand or point to objects in the pictures. Talk about the stories — what did you like? What makes you laugh?  What makes you sad?  Can you tell me your own story?

The time spent reading with your child will last for a lifetime.
