Ms. Lisa M. (Rhone) Koons, 52, of 3210 Landfill Road in Chambersburg, Pa., passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at 9:29 a.m. at Chambersburg Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past several years. 

Born Dec. 20, 1960, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of Gladys M. (Butler) Rhone of Pond Bank, Pa., and the late Robert W. "Bob" Rhone Sr.

She attended Penn State University at the Mont Alto campus.

She was employed by Rotorex in Walkersville, Md.; worked as a teacher's aide for Guilford Hills Elementary School in Chambersburg; was self-employed as the owner of Duffy's Mart in Pond Bank; and worked as a caseworker in the Franklin County Assistance Office.

She was of the Christian faith.

She enjoyed crafts, singing with family bands, spending time with her grandchildren and helping others.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Tyanne L. Vaughn and her husband, Jack, of Chambersburg, Ashley N. Koons of Pond Bank and Mandy R. Koons of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren, Loden, Layne, Carter, Rylnd, Mia, Natelie, Skylar and Emily; one sister, Marsha A. Miller of Mont Alto, Pa.; two brothers, Robert W. Rhone Jr. and Jeffery A. Rhone, both of Waynesboro; her former husband, Jake N. Koons of Greencastle, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin L. Rhone Sr. and Victor W. Rhone Sr.

Services will be Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, with the Rev. C. Roy Daywalt officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, Pa.

The family will receive friends Thursday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
