Martinsburg police to host sobriety checkpoint

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Martinsburg Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint beginning Saturday at 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Queen Street, according to a news release.

The checkpoint will end at 4 a.m. Sunday, according to the release.

A northbound alternate route will be a right turn onto Woodbury Avenue away from the checkpoint and the southbound alternate route will be a left turn on North Queen Street away from the checkpoint, the release said.

Porch, parked cars hit in Waynesboro crash

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A two-vehicle crash at about 11 a.m. June 28 sent one vehicle into a porch, while the other one hit two parked vehicles, Waynesboro police said in a news release last week.

Police said they were dispatched to the intersection of West Fourth Street and Hamilton Avenue.

Linda Jackson, of 4886 Rice Hollow Road, Greencastle, Pa., was cited for a stop-sign violation, police said.
