CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- —  The first From Writers to Published Authors Conference will be from 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Oakland United Methodist Church in Charles Town.

The conference offers writers the opportunity to learn from established authors and publishers. Attendees have a choice of panel discussions to attend — finishing your book, researching, writing for children, working with an illustrator, marketing with social media, designing your cover and more — plus panel discussions on cutting-edge topics: “The Future of Books”; and “Using Social Media for Book Promotion.”

Three publishers plan to appear: Lauren Carr of Acorn Book Services; Austin Camacho of Intrigue Publishing; and Beth Rowland of Black Walnut Corner Book Production.

Registration costs $60. Lunch is included. Space is limited; reserve space at www.acornbookservices.com. For more information, contact Carr at acornbookservices@gmail.com.
