Richard “Dickie” Norment Oyler, 65, of Williamsport, Md., died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.

Born Oct. 12, 1947, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Howard and Kathleen Oyler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Elizabeth Oyler.

Dickie retired from CAS and was previously employed by Callas Contractors Inc.

He was a member of Carpenter’s Local Union No. 1145, The Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 in Williamsport, Potomac Fish and Game Club and Western Maryland Sportsman’s Club Inc.

He is survived by two daughters, Sunni Bittinger and husband, Douglas, of Hagerstown and Maggie Shover and husband, Michael, of Clear Spring, Md.; two sisters, Roxanne Vinson and husband, Bob, and Beatrice Smith and husband, John; one brother, Charles “Buddy” Oyler and wife, Joyce; six grandchildren, Darren Bittinger, Sara Bittinger, Kolby Dietrich, Kasey Dietrich, Darren Shover and Nichole Shover; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Shane Oyler; one sister, Shirley Vinson; and two brothers, Junior Oyler and Harry “Jack” Oyler Sr.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Renee Mackey will officiate. Burial will be in Broadfording Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
