Williamsport Rotary awards scholarships to McNaney, Seibert

The Rotary Club of Williamsport awarded $1,000 scholarships to two Williamsport High School students June 3.

During the school’s annual awards program, Rotary Member Brent Bailey  presented    scholarships to  Connor X. McNaney  and Benjamin M. Seibert. 

Connor is the son  of Shellie and Brian Hoffman, and Gabe Davis.

Ben is the son of Sally L. Seibert and the late John B. Seibert. 

Both students will attend the University of Maryland in the fall.

The Rotary Club sponsors the school’s Interact Club and also supports sending students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards each year during the second week of June at Juanita College in Huntingdon, Pa.

The Williamsport high students attending were Sarah Browning, Emilee Crawford, Julianne Baker, Sonya Goebel,  Abigail Socks and Hope Wolford. 

The program emphasizes leadership, citizenship and personal growth. 

It also demonstrates Rotary’s respect and concern for youth and encourages leadership of youth by youth.
