PONY-13 Regional Tournament

BOARDMAN, Ohio — Josh Colliflower pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts as the Hagerstown All-Stars defeated North Allegheny 3-1 on Saturday in a losers’ bracket semifinal game at the East Zone West Regional Tournament.

Jaret Lazich added an RBI in the victory for Hagerstown, which will play in the losers’ bracket final Sunday.

Earlier Saturday, Hagerstown defeated Brownlee 13-3. Winning pitcher Garrett Embley had five strikeouts in six innings of work and helped his cause with two hits and two RBIs. Ryan Flaherty and Dawson Hottinger each had two hits and Justin Aikens hit a home run in the victory.

Lilley conquers The Bear

LINVILLE, N.C. — Michael Lilley, 22, of Hagerstown, topped a field of roughly 700 runners to win The Bear, a grueling 5-mile uphill race.

Lilley conquered the course in 31 minutes and 19 seconds in the 19th annual edition of the race, which served as the opening of the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.

Gary Brown 5-Miler on Aug. 17

The 32nd annual Gray Brown Memorial C&O Canal 5-Mile Run will be held Aug. 17, beginning at 8 a.m., with the start/finish line at Riverbottom Park in Williamsport. Race-day registration ($30 for adults, $20 for students) will be held from 7 to 7:45 a.m. Early registration for discount rates ($25 for adults, $15 for students) will last until Aug. 7.
