Boy flown to Children's National Medical Center after dirt bike crash

An 8-year-old boy was flown Saturday night to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., after two dirt bikes collided on private property in the 12000 block of Knight Meadow Drive, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at 7:16 p.m., and the child was alert and conscious when a deputy arrived, deputies said. The 12-year-old riding the other dirt bike did not require treatment, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office did not have any additional details Sunday.
