Robert Lee "Bob" Flora, 86, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Williamsport, Md., passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport.

Born Sept. 30, 1926, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Preston Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth Swope Flora.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leila Virginia Good Flora, in 2011.

He was a graduate of Williamsport High School, Williamsport.

He was employed by the Maryland Correctional Training Center of Hagerstown until retiring in 1986.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport, and attended Johnsontown Bible Church, Hedgesville, W.Va.

He was a member of Mediary Lodge 140 AF&AM of Williamsport; Ali Ghan Shrine of Cumberland, Md.; Potomac Post 202 American Legion of Williamsport, where he served as past commander; and a longtime member of the Potomac Fish & Game Club.

Survivors include his daughter, Sherilyn R. Barnhart and her husband, Kenneth, of Hedgesville; granddaughter, Melissa L. Carper of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; grandson, Russell H. Barnhart of Hedgesville; and great-grandsons, Dylan C. Carper and Trent H. Carper, both of Bunker Hill.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard L. Vandegrift; a brother, Preston T. Flora Jr.; and a great-grandson, Kenneth "Jordy" Carper.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Monday, July 15, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will open after noon Monday for the convenience of family and friends. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. by Mediary Lodge 140 AF&AM of Williamsport.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Jack Rudy officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Military graveside services will be provided.
