Eleanor (Peggy) Cooper, 75, of Hagerstown departed this life on Friday, July 5, 2013, to meet with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 13, 1937, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of Raymond and Irene Cooper.

She was a member of Greater Campher Temple.

She attended school in West Virginia, and was a dedicated home health care worker for many years.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Maxine.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Donathan Cooper, Bertha Cooper and Freddie "Luke" Gardin, all of Hagerstown, Maila Gardin of Leeville, S.C., Darlene Snowden of Macon, Ga., John "Pee Wee" Gardin of Lakeland, Fla., and one foster daughter, Elisa Twyman; a special sister, Ethel Jones; brothers, Leonard and Raymond; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a sister-in-law, Darlene.

Visitation and wake services will be Friday, July 12, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harman, Kenworthy and Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

The funeral service will be Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Greater Camphor Temple KACWN, 125 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown, with Elder Joe Fowlkes officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
