WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Shoppers will now be able to get 30 big deals on a small card thanks to the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber is handing out 2-inch keychain cards to be presented at area businesses. Deals currently on the card can be found at www.waynesboro.org/chambercard.

The deals will change quarterly. Currently, they include discounts at Christine’s Cafe, Dairy Queen and Eichholz Flowers.

“We’ve been looking for more ways to increase exposure and visibility for our businesses,” said Allison Schuchart, assistant director of the chamber.

When someone buys a local product, that step has a ripple effect, Schuchart said.

Local accountants and suppliers serve those businesses, she said.

“It just makes a big difference in the community as a whole,” said Jackie Mowen, chamber director.

The free cards are available at the chamber and some of the organization’s 375 member businesses. Participating businesses pay $50 each to have a deal included on the card.

“It offers a great amount of exposure for the price,” Schuchart said.

Not only can current deals be found on the website, they can be accessed with a smartphone by scanning a QR code on the card itself. The back of the card features $1 off a tunnel or touchless wash at Waynesboro Water Works, the card’s sponsor.

The Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce has been offering a similar program in recent years, according to Mowen.

Other new initiatives from the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce include professional development and international travel opportunities.
