Eleanor (Peggy) Cooper, 74, of Hagerstown departed this life on July 5, 2013, to meet with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a lengthy illness.

She was born to Raymond and Irene Cooper on Sept. 13, 1937, in Charles Town, W.Va.

She was a member of Greater Campher Temple. She attended school in West Virginia and was a dedicated home health care worker for many years.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William, a brother, Charles, and a sister, Maxine.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Donathan Cooper, Bertha Cooper and Freddie "Luke" Gardin, all of Hagerstown, Maila Gardin of Leeville, S.C., Darlene Snowden of Macon, Ga., John "Pee Wee" Gardin of Lakeland, Fla., and one foster daughter, Elisa Twyman; a special sister, Ethel Jones; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and a sister-in-law, Darlene.

Visitation and wake services at Harman, Kenworthy and Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, will be on Friday, July 12, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Greater Camphor Temple KACWN, 125 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown, with Elder Joe Fowlkes officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
