Ida Bright Hoffman passed away the morning of Friday, July 5, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. A few months before, she suffered a broken hip, from which she never recovered.

She was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Greenup, Ill.

She lived in Pharr, Texas, for 18 years, where she enjoyed square dancing, walking at the mall and spending time with friends. Before settling in Pharr, she and her husband, Norman Hoffman, traveled and lived all over the world.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents, Coen and Phyllis Bright; daughter, Phyllis Adele Hoffman; and brother, Coen L. Bright.

She is survived by her daughters, Jo Anne Oney and Norma McClintock; sons-in-law, Phillip Oney and Michael McClintock; granddaughters, Rebecca (Oney) Breves and Katie McClintock; her brothers, Felecian Bright and Arthur Bright; and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Castle Ridge Mortuary, San Antonio, Texas. She will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Arrangements are to be announced later.
