Living Well workshop set

The Washington County Living Well Coalition will hold the first of a series of Living Well workshops Friday, July 26, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the senior center at Western Maryland Hospital Center, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown.

The workshops help those with chronic diseases learn skills to manage their symptoms and get the most out of life.

The workshops are designed for those who have a chronic disease such as diabetes, arthritis, depression, chronic lung disease and heart disease.

The workshops will be held for six consecutive weeks.

Doleman Museum to hold benefit tea

A Chocolate Garden Tea will be held by the Friends of the Doleman Black Heritage Museum Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Applause Caterers, 58 E. Washington St. in Hagerstown.

 The event will include an assortment of chocolate desserts, the raffling of two goodie-filled Longaberger baskets, a display of the latest mobile museum exhibits and a performance by pianist Latonya Wrenn of Washington, D.C.

The guest speaker will be Linda Irvin-Craig from the Washington County Historical Society.

Tickets cost $25 per person or $250 for a table that seats 10. Tickets can be purchased by calling the museum at 301-797-5019.

The event is sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Visitors Bureau.

The proceeds will benefit the museum and its impending move to downtown Hagerstown.
