1. Animal dress-up day

Franklin County Fair highlights include: Talent contest, 4-H/FFA Animal Dress-up Parade, 7:30 p.m. today; The Silver Eagle Band, 7 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11; truck and tractor pull, 7 p.m. Friday, July 12; Family Fun Day, Demolition Derby, 7 p.m., Joe Bonson and Coffee Run Band, 7:30 and 9 p.m. Saturday, July 13. 2. Fundraising gala

Doleman Black Heritage Museum will present a Chocolate Garden Tea on Saturday, July 13, with chocolate desserts, showing of mobile museum exhibits and music by Duane Carey and Kirky Mason and guests. 3 to 5 p.m.; doors open at 2 p.m. Applause Caterers, 58 E. 3. Concert

4. ‘Babe Ruth’ visits library

The Martinsburg Public Library presents baseball hitter Babe Ruth at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 11. Babe Ruth, portrayed by Gene Worthington of WV History Alive, will discuss his life during the Roaring Twenties. He played large and lived large. He overcame a difficult childhood to become the home run king. The library is at 101 W. King St. in downtown Martinsburg. Call 304-267-8933.

5. ‘Bloomin’ Bash’

More than 350 varieties of daylilies will be on display. Music by Drymill Road, Circa Blue and Bud’s Collective; plus, antique tractors on display, daylilies for sale, vendors selling pottery and plants; and workshops. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Hillbilly Daylilies, 1105 Giles Mill Road, Bunker Hill, W.Va. $10; $5, ages 6 to 12.
