Bountiful Blessings being held Tuesday

Bountiful Blessings will be held Tuesday from 4 to 6  p.m. at Benevola United Methodist Church, west of Boonsboro off Alternate U.S. 40. 

The program offers cleaning supplies and personal-care items for those in need.

Tractor pull

The Washington County Tractor Pullers is teaming up with Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League and East Coast Pullers LLC to bring pulling action to the local area. 

The event will be Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center, 7303 Sharpsburg Pike in Boonsboro. 

Admission costs $15 per person. Those ages 10 and younger will be admitted free. Advanced reduced-price tickets are available at Hoffman Dodge and Resley Tire in Hagerstown. 

On Friday from noon to 5 p.m., a meet and greet with some of the drivers will be held at Hoffman Dodge.

Lions Club

Boonsboro Lions Club members will be serving the community when they sponsor two rest stops on the Greatest American Bicycle Tour of the Historic Canal that benefit San Mar Children’s Home. 

The race will come through the area Monday, July 15, and the Lions will be at stops in Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Brunswick, Md.

Library news

At the Boonsboro library today, a free showing of “The Never Ending Story” begins at noon.
On Wednesday, Critters and Conservation will be held at 3:30 p.m. Attendees can interact with and learn about live animals.

The Young Readers Book Club for those ages 8 and older meets Monday, July 15, at 5 p.m. to discuss “Chomp” by Carl Hiaasen.

Free breakfast

The community is invited to a free breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m. at Benevola United Methodist Church.

Concert series

 A summer concert series will launch in Shafer Park beginning Sunday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. with music from the Martinsburg (W.Va.) Jazz Orchestra, which plays classic swing and contemporary big-band tunes.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Golf tournament

On Monday, July 22, the Boonsboro Athletic Boosters Golf Tournament will begin with sign-up at 7:30 a.m. at Beaver Creek Country Club.

London Fog reunion

The Boonsboro London Fog employee committee is planning a reunion for Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Boonsboro American Legion.

All who worked at the Boonsboro plant or the cutting facility in Hagerstown are invited to attend. The event is open to employees and management.
