Leona Jane Wood, 93, of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Coffman Nursing Home.

Born Sept. 19, 1919, in Roseville, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Truman Andrew and Olive Elizabeth Pearson Salpaugh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Winton Willis Wood.

She was employed by the Virginia Department of Highways for 25 years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Staunton, Va., for 45 years, and was presently a member of Benevola United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Jenkins and her husband, Terry R. Jenkins, of Hagerstown, and Cecily Wood and her husband, Herbert Beskar, of Roanoke, Va.; grandsons, Paul Garrison of Boyce, Va., and Mark Garrison of Midlothian, Va.; granddaughter, Tara Jenkins-Slick; nine other grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Eileen Robinette of Virginia Beach, Va.; and two nephews, Steve White and John White, both of Virginia Beach.

A memorial service will be Sunday, July 7, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Benevola United Methodist Church, 19925 Benevola Church Road, Boonsboro. Pastor John Dean will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, Special Gifts Department, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlain, SD 57325-0100; or Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
