Independence Eve at Plumb Grove Mansion

Thursday, July 4

Fourth in the Park
Family activities, food, concert by Williamsport Community Band as well as U.S. Navy Country Current and fireworks. The swimming pool will be open. 5 p.m. Byron Memorial Park, off U.S. 11, Williamsport. Admission to swimming pool, $4; $2, children.

Fireworks at Fairgrounds Park
C Smash and Demetri Callas and the Teddy Boys with special guests Michael Walls “Pokey” and Mike Sheer will perform. Children’s activities. 6 p.m. opening ceremonies; 6:30 to 9:30  p.m. music; 9:30 p.m. fireworks. Fairgrounds Park, 351 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown. Free. Call 301-739-8577, ext. 116.

Shepherdstown parade and picnic
Parade at 11 a.m. on German Street between Church and Princess streets. Picnic with children’s activities and live music. Food will be sold. Noon to 3 p.m. Morgan’s Grove Park, 4198 Kearneysville Pike, Shepherdstown, W.Va. Call 304-876-1139 or email pvsmith@frontiernet.net.

Martinsburg fireworks
City of Martinsburg will host a firework display. 9:30 p.m. War Memorial Park, off Tennessee Avenue, Martinsburg, W.Va. Rain date is July 5. Call 304-264-2131.

Summer Jubliee
Craft show at 8 a.m., Firecracker 5K at 8:30 a.m., flag ceremony at 9:30 a.m., parade at 10:30 a.m. Ray Owen at 12:30 p.m., Drew Adams Project at 4:30 p.m. Music and other events thorughout the day. Antietam Sparkle
Entertainment by Jennie Avila. Cocktails, dinner, dessert, raffle, live and silent auctions with cannonfire by battlefield reenactors. 6 to 10 p.m. Mumma Farm, Antietam National Battlefield, off Sharpsburg Pike, Sharpsburg. $75 per person. Independence Day celebration

Salute to Independence
The Maryland Symphony Orchestra will perform its Salute to Independence concert. The concert will feature singer and songwriter Jennie Avila, performing her original compositions based on true stories from the Civil War experience in Washington County. 7:30 p.m. Antietam National Battlefield, off Sharpsburg Pike, Sharpsburg.
