1. Patriotic concert
The Maryland Symphony Orchestra will perform its Salute to Independence concert, featuring singer-songwriter Jennie Avila, performing original compositions based on local Civil War stories. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Antietam National Battlefield, off Sharpsburg Pike, Sharpsburg. 2. Model trains
Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, 300 S. Burhans Blvd., Hagerstown, has model trains for kids to run, including a new layout of the Western Maryland Railway; plus historic locomotives and engines outdoors on tracks. 1 to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. $5, adults; 50 cents, ages 4 to 12. 3. Free concert
New Horizons Band will perform band music from the era of Peter Buys. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at City Park’s Peter Buys Band Shell, Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown.

4. Launch boats
Interpretive C&O Canal launch boat programs take place 10:30 a.m., 12:15, 1:30 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Saturday, Aug. 17. C&O Canal, 205 W. Potomac St., Williamsport. Stop by the visitor center to sign up. Call 301-582-0813.

5. Jazz at winery
