Goretti students receive awards for Latin exam scores

St. Maria Goretti High School recognizes those students who recently received awards for their performance on the 2013 National Latin Exam.

Three Goretti students, freshmen Ellie Didden and Emily Webb, and sophomore Katie D’Addato, received the highest honor, Gold Summa Cum Laude.

Three students received the Silver Maxima Cum Laude award: freshman Sean Sempowski and juniors Matthew Tylicki and Keeley Scott.

Five Goretti students also received Magna Cum Laude awards: freshman Bridget Scott, sophomore Michael Ewing, and seniors Hannah Geesaman, Jessica Swarner and Caroline Hyde.

Three students received Cum Laude awards: freshman Cecelia Galovic, junior Jacob Moats and senior Joseph Theis.

More than 154,000 students nationwide and worldwide take the National Latin Exam.

Goretti is a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school in Hagerstown.
