Women's Club donates $1,000 to Girls Inc.

The Women’s Club, whose purpose is to promote the welfare and education of the women of Hagerstown and Washington County, held a benefit card party April 17.  Proceeds from the  party went to Girls Inc. of Washington County, an after-school program for girls ages 6 to 18 who participate in educational programs that teach skills to lead a successful, healthy life.

At the club’s board meeting on June 10, a check for $1,000 was presented to Girls Inc.

Donna Smith, club president, presented the check to Maureen Grove, executive director of Girls Inc. Patrice Slodysko, co-chairwoman of the card party, was also on hand for the presentation. Not present was co-chairwoman Joan Schupp.
