FROSTBURG, Md. —  Christopher James “C.J.” McMurtrie of Hagerstown was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Frostburg State University. 

He is an art and design major. 

C.J. is a member of the Mu Omicron Chapter of the Phi Mu Delta Fraternity at FSU and is serving as president. 

He is the son of Jim and Kristi McMurtrie of Hagerstown and the grandson of Ruby Anderson of Williamsport and Pat McMurtrie and Jim McMurtrie, both of Hagerstown. 



TOWSON, Md. — Zachary A. McGee was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Towson University.

McGee graduated from Boonsboro High School in 2011.

He is the son of Jeff McGee and Dr. Kristine Easterday McGee of Keedysville.



KEYSER, W.Va. — The following area students were honored for academic excellence for the spring semester at Potomac State College of West Virginia:

Joshua C. Ernst of Clear Spring was named to the provost’s list (3.7 to 4.0 grade-point average).

Todd M. Welch of Clear Spring was named to the dean’s list (3.0 to 3.699 grade-point average).



BATON ROUGE, La. — The following area students recently were initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines:

Lindsey Baker of Frederick, Md., initiated at Hood College in Frederick

Mary Budnick of Jefferson, Md., initiated at University of Maryland University College

Angela Rowland of Middletown, Md., initiated at Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Sandra Bolinger of Thurmont, Md., initiated at Hood College

Heather DeGrange of Thurmont, initiated at Hood College
