Seven teens in stolen car taken into custody in Franklin County

SCOTLAND, Pa. — Seven occupants in a stolen car on Interstate 81 were taken into custody Wednesday evening in Franklin County, Pa., after their vehicle reached speeds in excess of 90 mph and struck a Pennsylvania State Police cruiser, police said.

The only adult in the vehicle, Travon Scott, 18, of Harrisburg, Pa., was charged with receiving stolen property and fleeing, state police said.

The other six occupants included two 17-year-old Harrisburg boys, a 16-year-old Harrisburg girl, a 15-year-old Harrisburg girl, a 16-year-old Carlisle, Pa., girl and a 15-year-old girl from Mt. Holly Springs, Pa., police said.

The juveniles were placed in Abraxas Youth Center in South Mountain, Pa., and Scott was taken to the Franklin County Jail, police said.

Police said they were notified about a stolen vehicle that was traveling south on I-81 near mile-marker 20 in Greene Township.

Troopers were unable to stop the vehicle initially but succeeded in stopping it after another attempt. The incident occurred about 6:48 p.m.
