SBA offers Web sessions

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering free Web-enabled, instructor-led government contracting training sessions.

The seminars are being offered to eligible individuals and small businesses nationwide, as part of the SBA's efforts to provide relevant training to the small-business community.

Instructors for the training are from Stover & Associates Inc.

Online seminars include:

Financial management for government contractors: This course is targeted to address the needs of preapplicants for the 8(a) program, firms in the developmental and transitional stages, and graduated 8(a) firms that wish to increase their understanding of managing contract-related finances, maintaining compliant accounting systems, preparing for various government contracting audits and administering federal contracts.
Session 1: Monday, 1 to 4 p.m.
Session 2: Tuesday, 1 to 4 p.m.

E-commerce and Internet business strategies: This course is primarily targeted to preapplicants for the 8(a) program and firms in the early developmental stage of the program. Others who might benefit are firms in the transitional stage or graduated firms that have little experience in leveraging technology to improve their competitive position or wish to broaden the knowledge of personnel in key positions.

Session 2: Tuesday, June 25, 1 to 4 p.m.
