Ruritan plans Kevin's Fund Golf Tournament June 28

The Maugansville Ruritan Club will host its 10th annual Kevin’s Fund Golf Tournament Friday, June 28, at Black Rock Golf Course. 

Play begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and includes first- and second-team prizes in three flights. 

The $80 registration fee includes green fees with cart, breakfast items, beverages on the course, a post-tournament meal by Celebrations Catering, door prizes, and prizes for hole-in-one, longest drive, and closest to the pin on all par 3s. 

Proceeds from the tournament help children with special medical needs and expenses. Over the past nine years, Kevin’s Fund has donated almost $90,000 toward the cause.

Fire company to hold chicken barbecue

The Maugansville Fire Co. will hold a barbecue Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out) at the fire station, 13730 Maugans Ave.

The meal costs $6.50 for one-half chicken, baked beans, applesauce and roll or $4.50 for the chicken only.

All proceeds benefit the fire company.

BPW dinner theater social planned Sunday

The Hagerstown Business Professional Women’s Association will meet Sunday for a dinner theater social at the Washington County Playhouse.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m., the meal will be served at 1 p.m., followed by the comedy “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

The event costs $40. Guests are welcome.
