Ida Kate Grimes, 108, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born Feb. 16, 1905, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Hamilton and Nettie Lee Bowser Grimes.

She was a graduate of Williamsport High School, and received her teaching certificate at Towson Normal School in Towson, Md. She started her teaching career at Pinesburg School, and ended it at Surrey School in Hagerstown. She taught for 44 years until retiring.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Williamsport.

She was a member of Ruth Rebecca's Lodge of Williamsport.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothea Snyder, Margaret Myers and Annie Grimes; and two brothers, William Grimes and Harry Grimes.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 11 a.m., with the Revs. W. Gregory Martin and David B. Kaplan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamsport.
