Wilbur S. Miner, 70

Wilbur S. (Bud) Miner, 70, of Boonsboro, Md., died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Donna M. (May) Miner for 48 years, having married  on May 21, 1965.

Born Jan. 27, 1943, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Walter Kefauver Miner and Cornelia Lucretia Shry Miner.

He graduated in 1960 from North Hagerstown High School.

He was employed with Maryland Correctional Institution, Hagerstown.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg. He was a member of Friends of the Washington County Rural Heritage Museum and Kang Wha Do Korean Veterans Group.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Eric Scott Miner, and wife, Sandy, of Boonsboro; his grandsons, John Scott Miner and Jacob Scott Miner; a sister, Bertha Ann Haden of Hagerstown; a brother, Paul W. Miner of Williamsport, as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois L. Haden.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 209 W. Main St., Sharpsburg. The Rev. Mark W. Wastler will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, on Wednesday, June, 12, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m.
