Albert Daniel “Bill” Hawks Sr., 82, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at his home with family members present.

Born Oct. 23, 1930, he was the son of the late Leslie Clemens Hawks Sr. and Ethel Irene Hawbaker Hawks.

He was employed by Keebler Biscuit Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1992. During his retirement, he worked part-time for Allied Van Lines of Hagerstown.

He served in the Army in the 102nd Quartermaster Bakery Co. from 1950 to 1951.

Albert “Bill” is survived by his wife, Matilda Anne Hawks; two sons, Albert Daniel Hawks Jr. of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Timothy Allen Hawks of Hagerstown; one stepson, C. Allen Shatzer of Taneytown, Md.; three daughters, Brenda Joyce Stouffer of Hagerstown, Cathy Marie Payne of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Christine Irene Norris of Hagerstown; one stepdaughter, Mary Elizabeth Barnhart of Williamsport, Md.; a brother, Frank Hawks of Hagerstown; two sisters, Betty Churchey and Caroline Poole, both of Hagerstown; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, John, Leslie Jr. and Donald, and four sisters, Hedy Hawks, JoAnn Bryan, Margaret Guessford and Jacquline Hawks; and one stepdaughter, Cynthia Barnhart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Anne Weatherholt will officiate.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
