Area Saint James graduates announced

Saint James School, Hagerstown, held its commencement exercises June 2. There were 39 graduates.

Tri-State area graduates, along with prizes won, included:

Omair Mumtaz Akmal, Hagerstown, was awarded the Farah Science Prize for outstanding achievement in science and also was inducted into the Cum Laude Society.

Sarah Bush Dewitt, Middletown, Md., was awarded the Henry Kyd Douglas Prize for English Composition and the Prize for Excellence in French, given in memory of Thomas E.W. Durrans. She also was inducted into the Cum Laude Society.

Austin James Fahey, Hagerstown

Rida Kaukab Faridi, Hagerstown

Adam Paul Hamrick, Martinsburg, W.Va., was awarded the Simms A. Jamieson Prize for showing the most improvement in his years at Saint James.

Lynn Brugh Hatcher, Easton, Md.

Rivka Elisheva Herrera, Hagerstown

Robert Gordon Leatherman III, Hagerstown, was awarded the Headmaster’s Prize for the student who best exemplifies the qualities of a gentleman and a scholar.

Mickenzie Taylor Ortiz, Falling Waters, W.Va.

Katherine Eliason Pennington, Hagerstown

Aiman Noor Siddiqui, Boonsboro

Tessa Nash Thomas, Berryville, Va.

Brett Baker Vitkun, Williamsport

Robert Leighton Younger, Hagerstown, was awarded the Charles G. Meehan Jr. Prize for all-around athletic ability.
