Kathryn Mason Fearnow, 93, previously of 12 N. Clifton Drive, Williamsport, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her current residence of Twin Oaks Assisted Living.

Born May 7, 1920, in Inwood, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert J. Mason and Mary Light Mason, owner and operator of Mason’s Garage and Transfer Co. of Inwood.

Kathryn was a graduate of Bunker Hill High School Class of 1938, and a graduate of the West Virginia College of Beauty Culture in 1939, where she was a past president of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport for 75 years, served on the administrative board and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

She was an associate member of the Pangborn Lodge Fraternal Order of Police and was a member of AARP.

She volunteered at the Homewood Retirement Center and enjoyed working with the Williamsport Lions Club for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dale Leon Fearnow, who died April 18, 1986; five sisters, Madeline Gardner, Evelyn Coffman, Peggy Hilda Daugherty, Donna Lee Wetzel and Freda Coe; and two brothers, Harry Mason and Russell “Bill” Mason.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Kathryn is survived by a son, Leon Curtis Fearnow and wife, Scherry, of Hagerstown, Md.; a daughter, Sandra Lee Stumbaugh and husband, Jerry, of Williamsport, Md.; and Donna Weimer and husband, John, whom Kathryn nurtured and loved as a daughter. She is survived by four granddaughters, Sandra A. Ridenour and husband, Lee, Susan M. Snyder, Sheila Rowe and husband, Zane, and Christa L. Stumbaugh; three stepgranddaughters, Keri, Shanan and Shawna Plunkett; seven great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St. in Williamsport, with the Rev. James Swecker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Tuesday at 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
