Fitness classes take place on Tuesdays

An outdoor fitness series has begun on Tuesdays with hot yoga or Zumba at University Plaza next to University System of Maryland at Hagerstown, off West Washington Street in downtown Hagerstown.

The classes are free.

The schedule:

• Tuesday — Zumba with Heather O’Neill of South Pointe Fitness

• June 18 — Yoga with Sandra Meyer of Peace by Yoga

• June 25 — Yoga with Michelle Grimes

Vacation Bible school planned at Emmanuel United Methodist Church

Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave. in Hagerstown, will host vacation Bible school June 17 to 22, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Classes are for ages 4 to adult. The theme is “Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together.” 

A light meal will be served at 5 p.m. for attendees and volunteers.

In addition, the church will begin a new weekly worship titled “Fresh Start.”

The praise and worship team/band will lead the worship each Thursday at 7:30 p.m. beginning June 27.

It will be a come-as-you-are service. Light refreshments will be served.

Lions Club

Tuesday — Donna Schurr, president of Meritus Medical Center Auxiliary, will present a program about the services performed by the auxiliary, volunteer opportunities and support provided to Meritus Medical Center.

Cruise-in to be held at ag center June 22

The Mason-Dixon Region Antique Automobile Club of America will   hold its annual cruise-in/car show Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center off Sharpsburg Pike.

The event will include a car corral and flea market.

There will also be Model T driving demonstrations, food and a bake sale.
Dash plaques will be given to the first 75 vehicles registered.

The registration fee is $8 per vehicle. All cars are welcome.

There will be no judging.

Door prizes will be available.

South High Class of 1961 planning reunion July 20

The South Hagerstown High School Class of 1961 will hold its reunion Saturday, July 20, from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza.

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

Tickets cost 30 per person. Classmates are asked to make reservations by July 6.
