About 200 Waynesboro residents given boil-water notice

June 06, 2013

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — About 200 residents of West Second Street between Grant and Potomac streets are being asked to continue boiling water as the Borough of Waynesboro awaits testing results from bacterial samples.

Stormwater system work in that area necessitated moving some water lines and temporarily shutting down water service Monday, according to Leiter Pryor, director of utilities.

Residents were given a boil-water notice Sunday through an automated system, Pryor said.

Results from state-required testing on samples are needed to clear the water for regular use, Pryor said.

Those results should be provided to the borough early next week, he said.

Anyone in the affected area who did not receive the notification should visit www.waynesboropa.org to ensure the contact information is entered correctly. For additional information, call 717-762-2101.
