Teen charged criminally in harassment incident

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A 16-year-old boy has been charged criminally in connection with a harassment incident at Waynesboro Area Senior High School, Waynesboro police said in a news release Thursday.

Police said they were called to the school at 11:22 a.m. May 17.

The boy was charged with ethnic intimidation and harassment, police said.

Police did not release additional information.

Teen loses control of car, strikes parked truck

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A 17-year-old girl lost control of her Honda Accord and hit the back of a parked pickup truck outside Waynesboro Area Senior High School as guests were arriving for graduation Wednesday, Waynesboro Police Chief Jim Sourbier said in an email.

The Accord rolled onto its side in the 600 block of East Second Street at about 5:39 p.m., Sourbier said.

The girl was treated and released from Waynesboro Hospital for minor injuries, he said.

Police are continuing to investigate, according to Sourbier.

  • At 5:09 p.m., a theft was reported in the 900 block of Dual Highway.
  • At 5:19 p.m., vandalism was reported in the 300 block of McDowell Avenue.
  • At 5:34 p.m., an assault was reported in the in the 10300 block of Noland Drive.
  • At 5:47 p.m., vandalism was reported at Charles and Jonathan streets.
  • At 6:13 p.m., a warrant was served in the 200 block of Cannon Avenue.
  • At 8:26 p.m., a theft was reported in the 900 block of Kasinoff Avenue.
  • At 8:46 p.m., gang graffiti was reported in the 600 block of North Mulberry Street.
  • At 9:21 p.m., a theft was reported in the 1500 block of Potomac Avenue.
  • At 9:27 p.m., an accident was reported at North Mulberry and East Franklin streets.
  • At 10:39 p.m., a theft was reported in the 600 block of North Mulberry Street.

Thursday
  • At 1 a.m., disorderly conduct was reported in the 100 block of North Potomac Street.
  • At 8:10 a.m., a missing person was reported in the 200 block of West Side Avenue.
  • At 9:16 a.m., vandalism was reported in the 400 block of East Antietam Street.
  • At 9:59 a.m., a vehicle theft was reported in the 1900 block of Dual Highway.
